Ingredients

  • 1–2 pounds beef steak (sirloin, round steak, chuck steak, or similar)
  • 2 large onions, thinly sliced
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil or melted butter
  • 1–1½ teaspoons salt and freshly ground black pepper

Directions

Step 1: Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).

Tear off two large sheets of heavy-duty aluminum foil, or use one large sheet folded over to completely seal the ingredients.

Step 2: Prepare the Onions

Place the sliced onions in a large bowl.

Drizzle with the olive oil or melted butter and season with salt and black pepper. Toss until evenly coated.

Step 3: Assemble the Foil Packet

Lay the steak in the center of the foil.
